As the year comes to an end deadlines seem to approach faster and faster. We as students have known about these deadlines since August, but I personally realized that I was not prepared at all. At the end of the semester I always tend to freak out about grades and things slipping through my fingers. The same thing happened to me in years past, and I thought I would be prepared this year. I was slightly more prepared, but as a warning to others deadlines come fast! I did not realize what college life would be like and the one point of advice I would give to entering freshman would be to watch deadlines carefully. They all come at once when you least expect it.
I was expecting this week to be relatively easy, but I had a rude awakening when I had to read a 400 page book in one day this week. I was ill-prepared for this and I had a wake up call. Never will I procrastinate that much again! This is just a post to warn others so they do not have to go throuhg the rough day I did. Everyone preaches in college about keeping up with work and I did so fairly well, but the last few assignments always get me caught up. I just wanted to get this out there from a students perspective for new incoming freshman about to start college in the fall.

Amen!! I too have entered into a procrastination phase in my life. Up to my junior year of high school I was always so up-to-date with my work and I would do anything to get back into that groove. But once senior year hit and college applications came along, I began pushing school work aside. In the beginning of my freshman year of college I was a little better about giving myself time to complete a task but that quickly wore away with all the distractions that come along with college. This week I had the chance to do an optional rewrite for a history paper and I kept putting it off so I never actually finished it. Although I received a pretty good grade on my original paper, I still blew the chance to improve my grade. I now feel so lazy and I completely regret ignoring the due date. My New Year's Resolution is going to be making a schedule of when to do work so I will not have to cram for tests and pul all-nighters to complete papers. I too second your opinion on being prepared for college because that will make your life so much easier.
